Lip Lift

A lip lift is a simple surgical procedure to raise the upper lip. It is performed either to shorten the distance of an overly long upper lip or to enhance the size of a naturally very thin lip.

What are the benefits of a lip lift?

There are multiple benefits to a properly performed lip lift procedure. As we age, the upper lip tends to stretch and lengthen with gravity, just like other parts of the face. This usually results in the red part of the lip “rolling” inward, creating a thin appearance. Additionally, the upper lip drops down and covers the upper teeth, which can make the mouth look aged. By shortening the upper lip, these changes are reversed, and the mid-face gains a lifted, more youthful appearance. The lift also provides a naturally fuller appearance to the lip, which is often desired by younger patients as well.
