If you want to rejuvenate the youthful appearance of your skin without the time and expense of surgery but with longer-lasting results than non-surgical treatments, consider a thread lift for the face and neck.
This is a minimally invasive technique that mimics the effects of a surgical facelift. Using polydioxanone (PDO) thread, the same absorbable thread used in medicine for over 10 years, this minimally invasive procedure lifts and tightens the face and neck. The PDO thread is specially designed to stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin, thus improving skin health over time.
Good candidates for this type of lift are patients with minimal signs of aging who need a minor lift, patients beginning to see some sagging in the brows, cheeks, jowls, and/or neck and would like a lifting effect but do not want the risks, scars, or recovery time of a full facelift, brow lift, or neck lift, as well as individuals who prefer to avoid surgical facelifts.
Result and Aftercare: On the day of treatment, you’ll relax in one of our treatment rooms as a local anesthetic is injected into the areas of the face to be addressed. Once the anesthesia is effective, the doctor will carefully insert the PDO threads. The threads will be attached to the skin tissue and lifted to achieve the desired effect. The threads will be tied and cut to blend in as the skin heals. Patients may experience minor redness or bruising, which will resolve on its own within 1-2 weeks.
The result of the thread lift is immediate and even more visible after 1-2 weeks when any potential swelling and bruising have subsided.
Results will continue to improve as your skin produces more collagen in the following months, which will also extend the longevity of the thread lift beyond the lifespan of the threads. Additional threads can always be added to further improve results. If you later choose a more intensive surgical procedure or facelift, this can be done without issues, as PDO sutures are fully absorbable and leave no scarring.
Results of a PDO thread lift will vary for each patient, but most patients see improvements lasting 2-3 years. Recovery is minimal after a PDO thread lift procedure. Most patients can resume normal activities within a week post-procedure.
