Hyperhidrosis, also known as excessive sweating, is defined as an increased amount of sweat and can be caused by medical, medicinal, or environmental issues.
It can occur in people with metabolic diseases but also in healthy individuals.
Often, no specific cause is identified, but people who suffer from excessive sweating will:
- sweat almost constantly, regardless of weather/temperature
- need to change clothes more frequently
- be concerned or even embarrassed about the problem
The treatment for hyperhidrosis of the arms (excessive sweating) is arm botox. It is injected in micro-drops using a small needle in the underarm. When botox is injected into the underarm, it blocks the nerves linked to the sweat glands, which then prevents the sweat glands from producing sweat.
Once you have had the treatment, you will start to see results and a reduction in sweat as quickly as 48 hours. The results last 6-9 months.
