Hair loss and thinning can be a painful change, but it doesn’t have to completely alter your appearance—there are treatment options available that can slow down and even reverse the effects of hair loss.
There are a number of reasons why hair loss occurs in men, including age and genetics. Other factors, such as stress and underlying medical conditions, can also play a role. In many cases, addressing the underlying cause of thinning or hair loss can reverse the effects of this change.
At Russian Aesthetic, we offer PRP treatments to patients struggling with thinning or hair loss. PRP treatment is recognized as the leading patented technology for autologous platelet-rich plasma (A-PRP). PRP treatments are designed to isolate the powerful growth factors in the patient’s blood, which are then used to regenerate tissues, stimulate stem cells, and increase collagen production, nutrients, and antioxidants. PRP is a versatile treatment often used for its anti-aging benefits. The main goal of PRP treatments is to stimulate hair growth in people who do not respond to other forms of treatment. For example, there are some patients who do not respond to medication and are not suitable candidates for surgery, in which case PRP is recommended. Since the patient’s own blood is used, there are also no side effects other than sensitivity and swelling.
PRP treatment results are not immediate; new hair growth can be seen in 2 months, but it is usually more noticeable around 5-8 months. Results will continue to improve up to 12 months.
Depending on the severity of hair loss, the number of treatments needed will be determined. Typically, 3 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart are recommended, followed by a single additional treatment every 6–12 months to maintain results. If you can tolerate the sensation of a general injection, you will find PRP treatments bearable, but we can use a topical anesthetic to ensure maximum comfort during sessions.
Since this is not a surgical procedure, no recovery time is necessary. That said, some patients prefer to go home after treatment and return to work the next day. A few hours after treatment, patients will be able to shower and wash and style their hair as usual. If swelling and inflammation are still present after a few days, it is best to contact us.
